Researchers blow smoke at chickens

Article Abstract:

The United Poultry Concerns protested against experiments conducted by the American Heart Assn. using chickens in passive smoking research. The animal activist group condemned the harmful effects of the tests on the subjects and emphasized their uselessness to human heart disease research.

Whose health is it, anyway?

Article Abstract:

Research has shown that the use of animals in studying human disease is often unreliable and misleading. However, billions of dollars are still being spent on public health research that uses animals. To improve public health, disease prevention must first be emphasized.

Nazis and animals: debunking the myth

Article Abstract:

Reports that Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian and that the Nazis did not use animals in research are meant to discredit animal rights activists. However, Hitler's biographical accounts revealed that the Fuhrer had occasional meat and that the Nazis did practice vivisection.
