German scientists may escape fraud trial
Article Abstract:
There are difficulties in Germany in bringing legal charges against the two scientists Freidhlelm Herrmann and Marion Brach, alleged to have perpetrated scientific fraud. A scientific investigation committed has concluded that the scientists fabricated data in 37 publications, but no case has yet been brought to court. Another investigation is underway in Berlin to determine whether false statements were made by the researchers to acquire grant money.
