Article Abstract:

Experts think that the declines in oil are indicators that the world is on the verge of or has already passed the maximum amount of oil that could physically be produced. In their view, oil production follows a bell shaped trajectory with the peak occurring when half of the total reserves are consumed which should make it easy to determine whether the peak has already occurred or whether it is yet to come.
