The nucleotide sequence of Saccharomyces cerevisiae chromosome VII
Article Abstract:
The entire nucleotide sequence of Saccharomyces cerevisiae chromosome VII has 341 new open reading frames (ORFs), with 17% showing much similarity to human proteins. An attempt to classify chromosome VII ORFs in functional categories was made, with the application of the search program PYTHIA, seeking simple repeats within a gene. The contents of chromosome VII are listed, taken from the physical map, independently constructed from the genetic map.

The nucleotide sequence of Saccharomyces cerevisiae chromosome IX
Article Abstract:
The sequence of Saccharomyces cerevisiae chromosome IX is reported, determined partly by shotgun sequencing of the entire chromosome. The analysis describes paticular problems in random shotgun sequencing and indicates that the chromosome is typical of a small saccharomyces cerevisiae chromosome. Chromosome IX was found to contain 221 open reading frames, with around 30% already sequenced.
