How Africa learned to love the cow

Article Abstract:

The genetic origin and the history of lactase persistence found in the sub-Saharan Africa are studied using the DNA samples of Africa's cattle herders. Lactase persistence is the best example of convergent evolution in humans, as only one gene is involved, with different mutations in different parts of the world having similar effects.
