Two distinct populations of Kuiper-belt objects
Article Abstract:
Approximately 60 Kuiper belt objects varying in size from comets to planets are known to orbit around the Sun and are found further away than Neptune's orbit. There has been little exploration of these objects because they are very faint. However, a recent survey of the colour of the known Kuiper-belt objects indicates that they are either a bit redder than the Sun or are the reddest things yet discovered in the Solar System.

Almost Planet X
Article Abstract:
A bright object has been found in the outer Solar System, using optical and infrared observations that reveal a body almost as big as Pluto's moon, Charon. The newly discovered object is called Varuna, and is a member of the Kuiper belt, which is an ancient belt of icy objects that surround the eight planets closest to the sun.
