Article Abstract:

The reconstruction of the mortuary temple of Pharaoh Senwosret III is described. Archaeologists have already been involved in this effort for 100 years. The temple was part of the Abydos religious center. Small objects uncovered nearrby have also shed light on the daily lives of the temple workmen.

Currelly between 1899 and 1903 is described. Modern archaeologists feel a sense of collaboration with their predecessors, who provide them with the basis of their own studies, although the remains of their hasty excavations often hinder modern investigations.
