Beer of Kings

Article Abstract:

Fragments of hundreds of oversized, decorated pots that were found in the pits of Conchopata, Peru during construction works are discussed. The different qualities and sizes of pottery fragments create a challenge for those engaged in reconstructing the vessels.

Research notes: from bare bones to mummified

Article Abstract:

Excavations in the schoolyard of Tupac Amaru uncovered many mummy bundles buried inside. Archaeologists discovered weaving baskets, dyeing materials and other artifacts associated with the production of textiles near and inside the mummy bundles.

Battles of Cerro Sechin

Article Abstract:

The images at Cerro Sechin, reflect a great victory in warfare. Archaeologists are puzzled, because there are no battlefields, or mass graves in Peru, that can be directly associated with the conflict represented at Cerro Sechin.
