Cultural brokerage and the public sector: response to Roger Abrahams

Article Abstract:

The public's relationship to folklore during the 1970s is examined, focusing on the author's own personal experience with teaching folklore at the university level. Topics include changes in folklore teaching standards, society's acceptance of public folklore, and impact of cultural and social mobility.
