Native voices

Article Abstract:

The opening of National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) that is scheduled on September 21, 2004 is discussed. The exhibits inside the building are a radical departure from centuries long tradition of presenting the native people of the America as generic glass-caged mannequins that focuses on a past filtered through archaeological or anthropological interpretation.
