Characteristics of good agate type

Article Abstract:

Agate pages should be legible and readable despite space limitations and numerous numbers. Sans serif font horizontal ruler are best suited for the design of agate pages. However, the agate will disappear from most newspapers due to the introduction of electronic media for updates. The newspapers should expand their role by monitoring, interpreting and analyzing trends.

Gerard Unger: type knows no border

Article Abstract:

Gerard Unger is one of the most prolific and productive type designers from Holland and specializes in newspaper text types. Coranto and Vesta are a few popular typefaces designed by him.
