Green market: this logging company doesn't fell a single tree

Article Abstract:

The Superior Water-Logged Lumber Co. does not have to cut down trees because it uses centuries-old lumber which have been cut between 1850 and 1930. Approximately 25 to 50 million feet of lumber can be found at the bottom of Lake Superior and these are being recovered by the company established by diver Scott Mitchen. After removing the outer edges and some 1/8 to 1/4 in. of the outer layer, virtually undamaged wood is revealed. These woods are either maple, red oak, yellow birch or red and white pine which have uniquely dense fine-grain patterns.
