Holiday colors, year-round charm

Article Abstract:

Sheri and John Larammee created a farm-house kitchen in keeping with the style of their converted barn home in Westport, CT. They chose red and green as their color scheme to match the red color of the barn and green landscape. These colors also bring more holiday cheer to the kitchen during Christmas.

Jo Ann and Robert Casey's home in Indianapolis, IN, exemplifies the quaint elegance that characterizes most colonial-style residences in the area. The 160-year house is adorned with paneled mantels, country Queen Anne chairs, pewter plates, stone fruit, Oriental rugs and a checkerboard-painted floor.

Mad for mocha ware

Article Abstract:

Mocha ware is an inexpensive pottery manufactured in England in the late 18th century. The most commonly produced pieces were jugs, mugs and bowls designed with seaweed, earthworm, cat's eye, marble and tortoiseshell patterns. It is famous for its soft color blends and inventive designs.
