Jumeirah Beach Hotel Conference Centre

Article Abstract:

Leo A. Daly was commissioned by His HIghness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to design the interiors of Jumeirah Beach Hotel Conference Centre which is envisioned to be a world-class destination in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. W.S. Atkins and Partners designed the 60,000-ft-building as a metaphorical journey from day to night with two levels separating the sky and the sea. The result was highly satisfactory to His Highness that he chose Leo A. Daly to design a fitness center and a new restaurant for the resort.

Amtrak consolidated national operations center

Article Abstract:

Amtrak's consolidated national operations center in Wilmington, DE, boasts of a smart interior design that has resulted in improved employee productivity and retention. Designed by Ellerbe Becket, the interiors of the high technology operations center feature a light-filled, colorful and user-friendly environment that promotes cross-functional teamwork, communications and efficiency. The facility uses a large-screen projection system for real-time monitoring of Amtrak trains via satellite.

Post-production studios

Article Abstract:

Recording and post-production company Soundwave found a building with 15-foot high ceilings and a large space in Arlington, VA. Brennan Beer Gorman Monk/Interiors found little difficulty in equipping the office with technical facilities for the studio's equipment. Acoustically-insulated walls and air spaces divide the four recording studios and a video room, while each is provided with a dropped ceiling and raised neoprene floors to accommodate electrical and other cable lines.
