The Croft-na-Caber watersports centre in Perthshire, Scotland, offers a range of water-based activities for weekend breaks. A white-water rafting experience costs 26 pounds sterling and consists of a six-mile trip in inflatable boats seating up to eight people. The experience is fun and invigorating. Participants may receive knocks but the river is not deep and swimming ability is not a requirement. Guides work hard to ensure maximum enjoyment even if low water levels detract from the usual length of the trip.

The pitfalls of racism must be avoided, such as the speech of the black scholar Leonard Jeffries on ice people versus sun people. Obscurantism must also be avoided, such as relegating the Anita Hill hearings to charges of sex harassment.
