Hitting home: what happens when asteroids out there end up down here?

Article Abstract:

Crater expert Eugene Shoemaker claims thata giant meteor crashed into Earth 100 million megaton bomb force and killed all the dinosaurs, raised dust into the atmosphere and to blocked out the sun, burned vegetation and produced acid rain. Craters found in Mexico, Iowa and Russia support his theory.

Heaven from hell

Article Abstract:

Scientists are beginning to consider how to convert Venus into a habitable, Earth-like planet. Suggested methods include eliminating the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and adding vast amounts of water to the surface.

NEAR nuzzles up to Eros and changes its names

High quality pictures of the physical features of the asteroid Eros are being transmitted to National Aeronautics and Space Administration scientists by the Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous spacecraft.
