Past writings and beliefs indicate that many people have envisioned Mars as a planet supporting life. The advent of better astronomical devices and the undertaking of Martian probe missions eventually disprove the existence of life on Mars. However, some scientists claim that Mars may have harbored life in the distant past.

The astronautics community is sponsoring several programs aimed at preparing younger generations for the exploration and subsequent colonization of Mars in the future. These programs involve using simulated environments to prepare students in planning and implementing a mission to Mars.

My favorite martians: NASA uncovers evidence of ancient life on Mars
Article Abstract:
Much excitement has been generated by NASA's announcement that a Martian meteorite provides evidence of extraterrestrial life. NASA based its findings on the age and origin of the sample, the presence of biomarkers and the existence of microfossils.
