What about the environmental impact statement? The law and ethics of terraforming

Article Abstract:

The idea of terraforming other planets for human habitation poses several legal and ethical implications. The Outer Space Treaty states that terraforming can continue as long as there is no harmful contamination involved. However, some people find difficulty in assessing the moral and ethical values of terraforming.

Playing the commercial space game: time for a new rule book?

Article Abstract:

Newer and better laws will have to be drafted to govern mankind's increasing commercialization of outer space. The limits of present laws and treaties in dealing with the quickening pace of space exploration and commercialization and suggestions for newer space laws are discussed.

Lack of sovereignty

Article Abstract:

Uncertainty over sovereignty may prove a barrier to human settlement of space. Lunar resources will not be developed in the absence of a suitable legal regime.
