Mazda has improved its model 626, which has lagged behind the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry in the past years. The new 1998 model is definitely bigger and has a larger interior space. Its 4-speed automatic transmission system has also been reprogrammed for a smoother shifting.

Nine Japanese tuner cars, the HKS Zero-R, Mitsuoka Zero1, Mugen Integra, Mugen Accord, M2 1028, RE Amemiya Greddy IV, RE Amemiya Super G RX, Trust Greddy RX, and Veilside Supra, are tested, described, and compared. The individual tuners and their work are also discussed.
