5 best trucks: Not even high gas prices can slow the truck juggernaut

Article Abstract:

The high gasoline prices have not stopped the shift towards truck-type vehicles as more than 54 percent of the vehicles sold in the U.S. in 2004 were mainly SUVs, pickups and vans. Subaru Forester 2.5XT is the best small sport-utility vehicle (SUV), Honda Pilot is the best large SUV, Cadillac SRX is the best luxury SUV, Ford F-150 is the best pickup and Honda Odyssey is the best van.

A road test performance of the new Chevrolet Corvette Z51, with reference to its engine, drive train, dimensions chassis, suspension, steering, and brakes is described. The new car priced at $47,000 features a V-8 engine with a power of 400bhp at 6000rpm, a torque of 400lb-ft at 4400rpm, balanced handling and a powerful stability-control system.
