The new Mercedes-Benz R-Class, a sport tourer is based on a much-modified version of the latest Mercedes M-class SUV's unibody platform. The new car priced at 50,000-$70,000 features a top speed of 130mph, wheelbase of 126.6in, and transmission of 7-speed automatic with manumatic shifting.

BMW 530xi Sport Wagon: Another reason not to buy an SUV

A comparison among different car models indicates a preference of Wagons over SUV's. The reasons put forward are lesser weight, better fuel economy and better grip around the skidpad.
