Pontiac GTO Drifter: The GTO may soon be revered for something other than drag racing

Article Abstract:

The Pontiac GTO met with a negative response in its first drifting event in February 2004. The car's driver, Rhys Millen and owner of Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) and Pontiac modified it into an RMR GTO model with a good baseline setup built after experimenting with numerous combinations of equipment and adding 100hp to the classic V-8 -powered engine, resulting in a great spectator response at the drifting event.

The set performance of Monster Garage show that features on Discovery channel demonstrating one of the project to turn a Corvette into a mud racer than make a $57,195 Cadillac Escalade ESV into a tailgater is presented. The crew consisted a talented custom-bike-builder with his crew of 5 men consisting of an audio man, a hydraulics expert, a fireman, a hot rod builder and an assistant.

The Society of Automotive Engineers is offering a three-day course, Applied Vehicle Dynamics, at $2200 to be held at BeaveRun Motorsports Complex outside Pittsburgh bridges. The course bridges the gap between driving and engineering schools and teaches students car behaviors, car chassis and other related techniques.
