Safety radar: so far, less than meets the eye

Article Abstract:

Safety-radar systems, designed to warn drivers of dangers such as road hazards, are expensive and have relatively poor warning capabilities. The Federal Communications Commission has approved one format, Safety Alert, but it has not approved the other format, Safety Warning System.
