Shuffling the deck

Article Abstract:

Grand Prix Racing, scheduled in the year 2005 with 19 races would be the longest campaign in the sport's history with revised tire rules as tires are their chief requirement to last for qualifying and the entire race distance. Grand Prix developed a series of sprints, depending on how many pitstops were factored into the strategy as at every pitstops the car gains weight in the form of fuel with benefit of new tires.

The initial round of the 1999 Formula 1 season in Australia witnessed Ferrari end its 20-year drought with a win by racing driver Eddie Irvine. However, his victory came about only after the McLaren of world champion Mika Hakkinen and team mate David Coulthard experienced a failure.
