Australia is seeing a rapid rise in its tourism industry because of the 12% increase in Asian tourists from 1999 to 2000. With the end of the economic crisis in most areas of Asia, more people are able to afford international travel and the Australian Tourism Commission's active marketing of Australia in Asia is beginning to see results.
