Credit fraud prevention

Article Abstract:

Many credit managers realize that it is both better and less expensive to prevent credit fraud than to react to fraud. One way to prevent fraud is to develop a fraud prevention program which utilizes computer software to help trained employees identify credit risks. J.C. Penney's is one company which has had good results with its on-line evaluation program: credit applications are entered electronically, and the computer system can evaluate applications and tag any application with certain types of 'suspect' information. Additionally, J.C. Penney depends on employee evaluation to prevent fraud.
