Distribution in the information age

Article Abstract:

The fast-paced technological evolution has important impact on financial and information services companies. According to an estimate, computing power has risen by a factor of about 10 billion since 1950. As a result, distribution has become less about physical distance than about access to transaction, as evidenced by the rise of automatic teller machines, television shopping, direct mail merchandising and Internet commerce. This shift to access distribution could lead to several customer and market changes that should be considered by strategic planners. These changes may include accelerated planning cycle, greater need for organizational agility, shortened profit expectations, and the need to consider customer demand and create value through distribution.

Formerly Anonymous

Article Abstract:

The author asserts that she is not 'Anonymous,' the author of 'Primary Colors,' a thinly veiled novel about Pres Bill Clinton. If she had written the book, she would have signed her name, or at least used a pseudonym. She enjoys the unearned fame although it makes her feel cheap.
