Article Abstract:

Information technology tools are useful for managing knowledge. Knowledge workers deal with information in electronic formats, and are fundamental to a company's success. Knowledge management software, including accounting software packages, groupware products, and document management systems enable companies to realize and access corporate knowledge that has accumulated. Knowledge management systems are essential to the success of today's organizations.

Laws for e-commerce: making progress

Article Abstract:

Australia is creating a legal framework to ensure that the electronic commerce will be able to thrive. The Exposure Draft of the Electronic Transactions Bill 1999 will enable the creation of a sensible and consistent approach to the regulation of electronic commerce. The government's intention is not to control, but rather to remove those legal obstacles that would threaten to hinder the development of electronic commerce.
