Managing the GST: preparing for the earthquake

Article Abstract:

The goods and services tax (GST) will have a major impact on business operations, both wholesale and retail, in Australia. The time frame and lack of legislative clarity are two of the major problems mentioned, and teams and committees who been set up to ease the transition. The example of New Zealand's use of GST has also been monitored on how to implement the new system.

Reporting on sustainable development

Article Abstract:

Areas of importance in sustainable development include eco-efficiency, sustainable consumption and corporate social responsibility. Accountants, finance workers and business people can assist the measurement and reporting of environmental performance. There must be financial rewards for sustainable development to make it successful.
