A linkage map for the hybridising toads Bombina bombina and B. variegata (Anura: Discoglossidae)

Article Abstract:

A linkage map of 28 codominant and 10 dominant phenotypic markers in the Bombina genome is constructed by genetic dissection via QTL mapping. Results from an F2 cross reveal that microsatellites, SSCPs or allozymes are mapped to 20 linkage groups. A preponderance of compound and interleaved CA-TA repeats with polarity at the 5' end is isolated from 40 CA microsatellites.

Comparing sire and dam estimates of heritability: jackknife and likelihood approaches

Article Abstract:

Jackknife and likelihood approaches are used to test the difference between sire and dam estimates in a half-sib pedigree design. For significant dominance and maternal effects both the t-test of the paired sire and dam pseudovalues from the jackknife procedure are said to be valid tests.

Mating patterns in a hybrid zone of fire-bellied toads (Bombina): Inferences from adult and full-sib genotypes

Article Abstract:

Adult and full-sib genotypes are examined for inferring mating patterns in a hybrid zone of fire-bellied toads (Bombina). Disproportionate contribution to the offspring cohort by B. variegata-like individuals among the adults was observed.
