The researchers at the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics (CIDD) at Pennsylvania State are trying to understand the interactions between the pathogens within the cities and within the hosts. The CIDD's approach might help in optimizing vaccination strategies, design eradication programs, halt incipient pandemics and identify potential zoonoses before they have infected humans.
