Accommodating chromosome inversions in linkage analysis

Article Abstract:

A population-genetics model is developed for polymorphic chromosome inversions and the algorithms and software for allele-frequency estimation and linkage analysis in the presence of an inversion are described. The model has shown that allele frequencies and haplotype frequencies specific to normal and inverted chromosomes decay over time to predictable equilibrium values and the suppression of recombination between normal and inverted chromosomes have shown the approach to linkage equilibrium.

Bayesian linkage analysis, or: how I learned to stop worrying and love the posterior probability of linkage

Article Abstract:

Posterior probability of linkage (PPL) is a Bayesian technique of genetic linkage analyses assigning probabilities of linkage after review of the data. PPL lacks the strict statistical accuracy of the calculation of P values, but provides more useful predictions of genetic associations with complex diseases and traits.

A Bayesian approach to copy-number-polymorphism analysis in nuclear pedigrees

Article Abstract:

The article represents a Bayesian graphical model that helps in the statistical evaluation of candidate copy-number-polymorphisms (CNPs). The model is also implemented in WinBUGS for analysis of nuclear families.
