Amaranthus hybridus can be pollinated frequently by A. tuberculatus under field conditions

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to determine the frequency under field conditions at which A. hybridus, a monoecious and predominantly self-pollinated species, pollinated by A. tuberculatus, a dioecious species. The result found that hybridization plays a role in adaptive evolution of weedy Amaranthus species.

Patterns of pollen and seed dispersal in a small, fragmented population of the wind-pollinated tree Araucaria angustifolia in southern Brazil

Article Abstract:

A complete study of the pollen and seed dispersal patterns in a small, fragmented population of the wind-pollinated tree Araucaria angustifolia in southern Brazil is presented. The trees are found to exhibit limited seed-dispersal and long-distance pollen dispersal in forests.

Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism-Based Genetic Relationships Among Weedy Amaranthus Species

Article Abstract:

Hybridization potential is estimated among Amaranthus species via amplified fragment length polymorphism-based unweighted pair group technique. Findings show that dioecious species are not more likely to hybridize among each other than they are among the monoecious species.
