Aspergillus volatiles regulate aflatoxin synthesis and asexual sporulation in Aspergillus parasiticus

Article Abstract:

The effects of Aspergillus volatiles on growth, development, aflatoxin biosynthesis and promoter activity in the filamentous fungus Aspergillus parasiticus are examined. The efficacy of 2-buten-1-ol (CA) as a tool for analyzing transcriptional regulation of aflatoxin biosynthesis is described.

veA is required for toxin and sclerotial production in Aspergillus parasiticus

Article Abstract:

The characterization of a veA ortholog in the aflatoxin-producing fungus Aspergillus parasiticus is reported. As veA is required for both mycotoxin production and morphological development, it makes a very good potential target gene to control aflatoxin biosynthesis or fungal development.

Sporogenic effect of polyunsaturated fatty acids on development of Aspergillus spp

Article Abstract:

Light and linoleic acid stimulate asexual spore formation in Aspergillus spp. In A. nidulans, sexual spore production was also increased by linoleic acid.
