CBP/p300 in cell growth, transformation, and development

Article Abstract:

CREB binding protein (CBP) and p300 and the complexes processes they participate in in cell growth, development, and transformation are discussed in this review article. The two proteins seem to be able to contribute to diametrically opposed cellular processes. They work in various tumor-suppressor pathways. They are also, as coactivators, essential for functions of many oncogenes. Whether they are part of apoptosis or cell proliferation seems to be very context-dependent.

Sequential actions of BMP receptors control neural precursor cell production and fate

Article Abstract:

Sequential actions of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) receptors have been found to regulate neural precursor cell production and fate. A feed-forward mechanism is described, and it clarifies how the sequential actions of receptors control production and fate of dorsal precursor cells from neural stem cells. Expression/function of two BMP receptors, BMPR-IA and BNPR-IB, in neural precursor cells was studied in vivo and in vitro.

Transformation of myeloid progenitors by MLL oncoproteins is dependent in Hoxa7 and Hoxa9

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on myeloid progenitors. The authors report that these progenitors immortalized by MLL oncoproteins possess Hoxa gene cluster expression profile.
