Chromosomal assignment of RFLP linkage groups harboring important QTLs on an intraspecific cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) Joinmap

Article Abstract:

Quantitative trait loci (QTL) examination on the joinmap for agronomic and fiber quality traits revealed highly recombined and gene abundant regions on cotton chromosomes. The compilation of genetic linkage maps and joint maps from different breeding gene pools enabled partial dissection of the A and D subgenomes in G. hirsutum.

Simple Sequence Repeat Marker Associated with a Natural Leaf Defoliation Trait in Tetraploid Cotton

Article Abstract:

Research on cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) yielded a microsatellite marker that may be used to introgress the quantitative trait loci for the naturally early leaf defoliation, which in turn can improve the cost effectiveness of cotton production. Genetic data are provided.
