Crystal structure of a SIR2 homolog-NAD complex

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the nicotineamide-adenine dinucleotide (NAD)-dependent protein deacetylases from the SIR2 protein family. The determination of the crystal structures of the SIR2 homolog from Archaeglobus fulgidus complexed with NAD has been carried out and the results indicate that the protein has a domain with the Rossmann fold and a smaller domain with the three-stranded zinc ribbon motif.

An inactivating point mutation in the inhibitory wedge of CD45 causes lymphoproliferation and autoimmunity

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates that a point mutation in the receptor-like transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatase ( CD45) causes lymphoproliferation and autoimmune nephritis leading to death in mice. Data suggest that dimerization of CD45 results in its negative regulation.

The TNF and TNF receptor superfamilies: integrating mammalian biology

Article Abstract:

The authors review the publications on the lymphotoxin and tumor necrosis factor. The points of interest include the organization of the tumor necrosis factor proteins and the ability of these proteins to adapt to such process as host defense.
