CynD, the cyanide dihydratase from Bacillus pumilus: gene cloning and structural studies

Article Abstract:

The authors report their study of cyanide-degrading bacterium Bacillus pumilus C1. The description of the quaternary structure sequencing, cloning and expression of the gene, encoding cyanide dihydratase in B. pumilus C1, in Escherichia coli is presented.

Development of a plating medium for selection of Helicobacter pylori from water samples

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Helicobacter pylori. The authors have tested the possibility of development of plating medium which would select viable H. pylori from water samples containing mixed microbial populations, and they discuss the results.

Selective plating underestimates abundance and shows differential recovery of bifidobacterial species from human feces

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on bifidobacteria from human stool samples. The authors describe the selectivity levels of various culture-dependent and -independent methods used for the analysis of these bacteria, and compare the results.
