Dos and don'ts of testing the geographic mosaic theory of coevolution

Article Abstract:

The misconceptions regarding the geographic mosaic theory of coevolution are clarified and the theory is tested. The tests of the geographic mosaic theory of coevolution have highlighted the workings of the coevolutionary process by focusing the research efforts on appropriate and powerful studies of its underlying ecological and evolutionary processes.

Adaptive evolution: The ecological genetics of floral traits

Article Abstract:

Floral traits make good subjects for the study of adaptive microevolution and they provide a direct link between patterns of evolution within species and rates of diversion between species. The findings of a study that undertook a review of empirical studies on the quantitative genetics of floral traits are discussed.

Quantitative genetics: Similar strokes for different folks

Article Abstract:

Tarsus length and body mass are heritable at almost every age where it was assessed in jungle fowl. It was found that genetic correlations between the sexes influence the rate and trajectory of body size evolution in red jungle fowl.
