Dynamic cross-talk between cells and the extracellular matrix in the testis

Article Abstract:

The pivotal role of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) on blood-testis barrier (BTB) dynamics via its effects on the homeostasis of a modified form of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins is reviewed. The novel findings regarding the role of non-basement-membrane-associated ECM proteins and components of focal adhesion in the regulation of junction dynamics in the testis is discussed.

TRAF6, a molecular bridge spanning adaptive immunity, innate immunity and osteoimmunology

Article Abstract:

Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor associated factor 6 (TRAF6) has several unique features that contribute to its diverse physiological functions. TRAF6 is the central player in osteoimmunology and its roles in dendritic cell and osteoclast biology appears to be a potential therapeutic target.

Epigenetic "bivalently marked" process of cancer stem cell-driven tumorigenesis

Article Abstract:

The study presents the discovery of a possible mechanism for the establishment of repressive epigenetic modifications that occurs during tumor formation. It is believed that the atypical differentiation that occurs in tumors is likewise driven by chromatin and DNA modifications.
