Research has been conducted on Alnus trabeculosa Hand.-Mazz. (Betulaceae) population. The ecological and genetic effects of cutting have been investigated via comparison of a cut and uncut portions, and the authors have discovered no difference in genetic variation between the portions, but have found differences in the degree of sprouting.

Genetics of Drosophila simulans male mating discrimination in crosses with D. melanogaster

Article Abstract:

The authors have investigated genetic bases of sexual isolation between Drosophila simulans and D. melanogaster. They demonstrate that D. simulans males discriminate D. melanogaster females, and that genetics of this discrimination is reflective of the inheritance mode of a single locus located in chromosome II near the net mutation.
