Genetic analysis of two distinct reproductive strategies in sexual and asexual field populations of an endoparasitic wasp, Venturia canescens

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on parasitoid wasps' asexual females which develop inside another insect. The authors have investigated the isolated sexual and asexual Venturia canescens strains, and they report the existance of the similar patterns of the functional and morphological differences in the ovaries of the asexual lines and homozygous genotypes from the field.

Population structure in the freshwater shrimp (Paratya australiensis) inferred from allozymes and mitochondrial DNA

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on genetic structure of common freshwater shrimp Paratya australiensis population. The authors describe the allozyme study of this structure, and report that the study has revealed a high degree of population structure which reflects a pattern of restricted contemporary gene flow between the streams within subcatchments.

Inheritance of allozymes and hybridization in two European Tilia species

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on hexaploid Tilia cordata Mill. The authors have carried out the inheritance analysis of enzyme systems in this hexaploid, and the results have demonstrated that T. cordata has disomic inheritance.
