In vitro ATP regeneration from polyphosphate and AMP by polyphosphate:AMP phosphotransferase and adenylate kinase from Acinetobacter johnsonii 210A

Article Abstract:

The use of polyphosphate:AMP phosphotransferase (PPT) from Acinetobacter johnsonii 210 in an ATP regeneration method based on use of polyphosphate (polyP) and AMP as substrates is discussed. The substrate specificity of PPT and demonstrated ATP regeneration from AMP and poly P have been studied using firefly luciferase and hexokinase as model enzymes that must have ATP. AMP and polyP are stable, inexpensive substrates, giving this system an advantage vs enzymatic ATP regeneration systems in which phosphenopyruvate and acetylphosphate act as phosphoryl donors.

Molecular diversity of plasmids bearing genes that encode toluene and xylene metabolism in Pseudomonas strains isolated from different contaminated sites in Belarus

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Pseudomonas strains that utilize m-toluate. The results of the isolation of these strains from the oil-contaminated soil samples in Belarus are discussed.
