Inbreeding, microsatellite heterozygosity, and morphological traits in Lipizzan horses

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on morphological traits in Lipizzan horses. The authors have measured morphological traits in Lipizzan mares and regressed them on the individual inbreeding coefficients and on the heterozygosity and mean square distances between microsatellite alleles within an individual, and they report that inbreeding, microsatellite heterozygosity and mean square distances between microsatellite alleles have no large effects on Lipizzan horses' morphological traits.
