Isolation of an insertion sequence from Ralstonia solanacearum race 1 and its potential use for strain characterization and detection

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the insertion sequence IS1405. The isolation of this sequence from Ralstonia solanacearum race 1 strain via the casB gene insertion inactivation method has been investigated, and the results of the sequence analysis indicate that the insertion sequence is related to the members of the insertion sequence family.

UDP-N-acetylglucosamine 4-epimerase activity indicates the presence of N-acetylgalactosamine in exopolysaccharides of Streptococcus thermophilus strains

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the exopolysaccharides produced by Streptococcus thermophilus strains. The monomer composition of these exopolysaccharides has been examined via the high-pressure liquid chromatography, amperometric detection and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and the results are described.
