ROC and CART analysis of subcutaneous adipose tissue topography (SAT-Top) in type-2 diabetic women and healthy females

Article Abstract:

The relationship between body fat patterns and type-2 diabetes mellitus in women who suffer from such diabetes is examined. Increased upper body obesity and decreased lower body obesity exist for women with diabetes.

Estimating percentage total body fat and determining subcutaneous adipose tissue distribution with a new noninvasive optical device LIPOMETER

Article Abstract:

A new optical device has been developed to measure subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) thickness and an estimated percentage of total body fat (TBF). Topics discussed include a comparison of TBF% objtained by different methods, SAT thicknesses in healthy controls and in patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus, and multivariate models for discrimination between patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus and healthy controls.

Measurement of subcutaneous adipose tissue topography (SAT-Top) by means of a new optical device, LIPOMETER, and the evaluation of standard factor coefficients in healthy subjects

Article Abstract:

A new optical device has been developed that can be used to measure subcutaneous adipose tissue topography (SAT-Top), based on a set of 15 well-defined body sites. The SAT-Top deviation of women with type-2 diabetes mellitus compared to healthy controls is discussed.
