Mitochondrial presequence translocase: Switching between TOM tethering and motor recruitment involves Tim21 and Tim17

Article Abstract:

Translocase of the inner membrane Tim21 (YGR033c) that interacts with the translocase of the outer membrane (TOM) complex is identified. Tim21 is specific for a TIM23 form that cooperates with TOM and promotes inner membrane insertion.

Novel phosphotransferase system genes revealed by genome analysis - the complete complement of PTS proteins encoded within the genome of Bacillus subtilis

Article Abstract:

Results reveal that Bacillus subtilis genome encodes 15 phosphoenolpyruvte:sugar phosphotransferase system (PTS) permeases and 13 PTS-associated proteins. These proteins catalyze and modulate carbohydrate utilization in this bacterium.

Regulation of the glucose-specific phosphotransferase system (PTS) of Staphylococcus carnosus by the antiterminator protein GlcT

Article Abstract:

The interaction of the antiterminator protein with the ptsG operon of Staphylococcus carnosus is described. These proteins form the non-processive antitermination, which is one of the ways gene expression is regulated in bacteria.
