Modeling the effects of nutritional and socioeconomic factors on the growth and morbidity of Kenyan school children

Article Abstract:

Several nutritional and socioeconomic factors influence the growth and health of Kenyan schoolchildren. In a study of 110 such children, these factors included calcium, protein and vitamin A intake, household income, maternal height and body mass index, parent's scores on psychological tests, mother's age and the child's hemoglobin level.

Pubertal development in Caracas upper-middle-class boys and girls in a longitudinal context

Article Abstract:

Statistics are presented on specific pubertal stages for boys and girls in Caracas, Venezuela. Findings include duration of puberty lasting 3.3 years for girls and 3.7 years for boys, and age at menarche for girls averaged at 12.55 years old.

Nutritional status by socioeconomic level in an urban sample from Bilbao (Basque Country)

The relationship between socioeconomic status and nutritional status has been examined in a study conducted in Bilbao, Spain. Variables included anthropometric data, bioelectrical impedance, and food intake estimates.
