Mumps in seat 21C!

Article Abstract:

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has designed eManifest, an in-house CDC database that imports electronic passenger data that the airline gives to the CDC. The passenger data is then distributed to state or territory health departments through Epidemic Information Exchange (Epi-X) to notify people who shared a flight with someone later diagnosed with the infection since airplanes are the most likely source of international spread of diseases.

Wanted: Owl killers

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted by a University of Minnesota researcher Rocky Gutierrez on the two species of owls, namely spotted and barred which revealed that the barred owls often threaten the spotted owls and possibly killed them and the barred owls movement has resulted in the reduction in the number of spotted owls. The seven different research and management techniques for studying the relationship between the two species are discussed.
