Nascent peptide-mediated translation elongation arrest coupled with mRNA degradation in the CGS1 gene of Arabidopsis

Article Abstract:

A cell-free system is used for demonstrating the inducement of temporal translation elongation arrest by S-adenosyl-L-methionine (AdoMet) at the Ser-94 codon located immediately downstream of the MTO1 region. It is found that during the temporary translation elongation arrest, the MTO1 region in nascent peptide resides in the ribosomal exit tunnel.

A complex system of small RNAs in the unicellular green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

Article Abstract:

The microRNAs presesnt in unicellular alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii are reported to direct the mRNA breakdown and are also connected with the gametogenesis. The alga also contains small-interfering RNAs that are generated by different genes and transposons.
